Event Recap
Man, Raw from Atlanta on January 28, 2025 was one of those shows where between the big moments and the bumps you could almost see Royal Rumble vibes bubbling up — especially with Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre stealing the show again in the main event. Sami came in still trying to beat Drew for the first time ever and, spoiler, he didn’t — and to make matters even more wild, his mistimed Helluva Kick punched Cody Rhodes instead, which lit up the crowd even if it was kinda cringeworthy. That sloppy magic had everyone talking. Earlier, The War Raiders proved they’ve still got the goods by keeping their World Tag Team Titles against “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh, and Rey Mysterio put a quick hurtin’ on Xavier Woods in a fun little matchup that had some folks grinning. On the mic, Seth Rollins was his usual intense self, shouting about his Rumble chances like he’s already booked into WrestleMania, while Logan Paul popped in to remind everyone he’s here whether you’re hyped or not. Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns also turned up to drop some bombshells that got the crowd buzzing. All told, it wasn’t perfect — some spots felt rushed and a bit messy — but it definitely had that “can’t look away” energy going into one of the year’s biggest weekends.

The Judgment Day
Summary
The War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) walked into this one with the gold and walked out with it still around their waists, but don’t think Judgment Day made them earn it. From the opening bell, Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh showed they weren’t just here to collect a paycheck — McDonagh even took a scary moonsault that saw his head hit the announce desk hard early, drawing legitimate concern from the broadcast team. War Raiders weathered Judgment Day’s early offense, absorbed some sneaky Carlito interference at ringside, and slowly took control with trademark power. The finish came when they hit War Machine on Dominik for a clean pin — no shenanigans, just brute force earning the win. Solid tag action with plenty of heat and near-falls that kept the crowd invested.
Summary
This was a fun mid-card clash with a bit of personal drama baked in. Xavier Woods got off to a strong start, trading chops and counters with Rey and showing his agility for a guy of his size, but the vibe shifted when Woods’ family appeared at ringside in matching “New Day Sucks” shirts — which seemed to throw him off for a beat. Rey hit his usual high-octane offense, including a springboard move that flipped the momentum. In the end, Mysterio landed the 619 and followed with a splash for the pin. A crisp, well-worked match that hit all the right notes for a crowd that loves both guys but wasn’t afraid to pop for Rey’s veteran savvy

Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez vs. Bianca Belair & Naomi
In this women’s tag bout, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez teamed up to take down the formidable duo of Bianca Belair and Naomi. The match had plenty of athletic sequences and heel-face brawling that kept momentum swinging back and forth. Liv used quick strikes and opportunistic tag work, while Raquel brought her power to wear down Bianca and Naomi. Belair mounted several comebacks with her trademark explosiveness, and Naomi’s speed kept things unpredictable. Ultimately it was Morgan & Rodriguez who scored the win, showcasing strong teamwork and leaving the champs under pressure heading into the Rumble weekend.
Main Event
Summary
This was the hard-hitting main event people were buzzing about. From the jump, McIntyre brought his typical intensity, chopping Zayn and driving him into the mat with authority. Sami refused to stay down, countering with aerial offense like an Arabian moonsault to the floor and even landing a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near-fall that had the crowd on its feet. Zayn busted open early and bled, adding a gritty edge to the match, but McIntyre kept grinding. When Sami went for a Helluva Kick, McIntyre ducked and quickly rolled him up using the ropes for leverage to get the pin. After the bell, chaos broke out: McIntyre kept the attack going, Cody Rhodes ran in to make the save, and in the confusion Zayn’s misplaced Helluva Kick inadvertently clipped Cody. A physical, brutal bout that ended up with more questions than answers heading into Rumble weekend.
