Event Recap
Monday Night Raw on April 13 felt exactly like a go-home show should… and also exactly like one that’s trying really hard to convince you everything is can’t-miss. The night in Sacramento was anchored by the final face-to-face between Roman Reigns and CM Punk, and honestly, they delivered—this wasn’t just trash talk, it was two guys clearly bothered by each other on a deeper level, trading lines that felt personal instead of scripted. Elsewhere, WWE kept the chaos rolling with Seth Rollins and Gunther throwing hands in a wild pull-apart brawl that did more to sell their match than any promo could. Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi handled business in a more controlled way with separate contract signings, but Lesnar still dropped that cold line about nobody remembering Femi’s name, which at least gave the segment some bite. The undercard had plenty of movement too—Rusev bulldozed his upcoming ladder match opponents in a pretty dominant showing, while the women’s division got physical with Stephanie Vaquer and Liv Morgan brawling and IYO SKY taking a loss thanks to outside involvement. There was even a random moment where an interviewer took a bump, which felt chaotic in a “why not, it’s WrestleMania week” kind of way. If there’s a knock, it’s that some of this felt more like checking boxes than creating moments, but when the big segments hit, they really hit. As a final push before WrestleMania, it did its job—just don’t expect every piece of it to age well by next week.

Adam Pearce kicks off the in-ring show, alongside Triple H, announcing that Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi will sign their WrestleMania contracts separately in order to make sure the fight is saved for Mania. Paul Heyman escorts Brock to the ring and the contract is signed quickly. Then they cut a brief but intense promo about how Brock Lesnar is the THE CONQUERER and after this weekend no one will even remember Oba's name.

Summary
This match was shaping up to be a pretty standard Charlotte-controlled bout early, but it didn’t stay clean for long. Charlotte Flair slowed things down and took over large portions of the match, working Lyra Valkyria over and cutting off her bursts of offense whenever she tried to build momentum. Lyra had her moments—quick counters, a couple of near-falls—but it felt like Charlotte was lining things up for her usual finish. Then everything shifted. Bayley got involved at ringside, creating just enough chaos to throw Charlotte off. That distraction was all Lyra needed—she capitalized in the scramble and managed to steal the win. It wasn’t a dominant victory for Lyra, and it definitely wasn’t clean, but a win is a win. Charlotte losing here felt less like she got outworked and more like she got caught slipping, which honestly fits the current vibe of this feud—messy, crowded, and nobody really getting the last word without help.

Stephanie enters the ring for an interview to address her attack on Liv (and Roxanne) last week. Before the interviewer can even get her full question out, Liv attacks Vaquer from behind. The two brawl in the ring but security quickly breaks them up. Liv grabs the mic and tell Vaquer that she "knew your mom was trash, but I didn't know she raised a little b*tch!" -- Stephanie was never going to let that slide. She flips and sprints back into the ring. The two bralwed a little longer until Liv is dragged from the ring---but she is crazed! She looks like a rabid animal!

Summary
This one got moving fast and never really slowed down, which honestly covered up some of the sloppiness that crept in once all six guys started rotating in and out. The Usos handled the early structure, isolating one of The MFTs and working quick tags while LA Knight waited for his moment. The MFTs turned it around mid-match by cutting the ring in half on Jimmy, keeping him grounded with quick tags and cheap shots to prevent the tag. Jey finally got in and cleared space, which is when everything broke down into the expected six-man chaos—superkicks flying, bodies spilling to the outside, and the ref losing all control. The finish came once things reset just enough for Knight to get the spotlight. After The Usos neutralized the other two members on the outside with a double superkick that sent them crashing to the floor, Knight caught the legal man trying to sneak back in. He shut it down with a kick to the midsection and dropped him clean with the BFT in the center of the ring. No overcomplication, no interference—just Knight hitting his move and ending it. It was the kind of finish that made sense: once the ring cleared out, The MFTs didn’t have a backup plan, and Knight took advantage immediately.

Gunther takes the ring, and it's a little deja vu because he is attacked before he even starts talking (we've seen this on THIS show already tonight (ahem...Liv and Stephanie). But Seth Rollins grabs the mic and at least we get an interesting twist on the same ol', same ol'. Rollins demands that Gunther come back and explain what he meant about this being personal. He demands Gunther explain if he is just sucking up to Heyman for a "favor" or it really is personal for him. Gunther stands face to face with Rollins and explains that it is personal, because he's sick of Rollins acting like he runs the show and he wants to prove to everyone that Rollins is.... Rollins doesn't want to hear anymore, so he punches Gunther in the face and the two brawl. Gunther escapes into the crowd and Rollins taunts him from the turnbuckle.

Summary
This was easily the cleanest-looking wrestling of the night early on, with IYO SKY and Kairi Sane leaning hard into their history together. They started fast—counter for counter, neither really able to hold an advantage for long. Kairi tried to ground things with quick strikes and control holds, while IYO kept slipping out and flipping the pace back with sudden bursts of offense. There were a couple of slick near-falls that actually got the crowd reacting, especially after IYO’s rapid transition into her signature offense off the ropes. For a stretch, it felt like this might turn into one of those standout Raw matches. Then the outside chaos kicked in. As IYO started building momentum again, Asuka showed up and got involved at ringside, cutting off IYO just as she was trying to swing things back in her favor. That distraction was enough for Kairi to capitalize—she caught IYO off guard in the confusion and spiked her with a quick roll-up style finish for the win, stealing it more than earning it clean. The match didn’t just get interrupted—it got redirected. The bigger wrinkle came right after: Rhea Ripley stormed down to even things up and backed Asuka off, getting physical at ringside and forcing her retreat. Rhea didn’t officially change the result, but her arrival made it clear this wasn’t just about Kairi and IYO anymore. It felt like the start of something bigger breaking open, with IYO left frustrated in the ring while the other two brawled on the outside.

Pearce and Triple H are back in the ring to get their last signature on the Oba/Brock contract. Oba struts to the ring and the crowd freaking loves this guy! Heyman arrives at the entrance with mic in hand. He goes on to heap praise on Oba--highlighting that he is the fastest rising star in WWE, that he is a voilent, dominant force, that he is an unmovable object...just like Brock Lesnar was. And for that reason, there will be no shame in losing to Brock at WrestleMania. Then Heyman implies that he is open to be Oba's guy when he is ready to "rebuild" his career. So Oba grabs a mic and proves that he doesn't need a Heyman. He proves that he is the THE RULER in the ring and on the mic. Seriously, just go watch this promo. I can't do it justice. But he annihilates Heyman and Lesnar. This guy is a freaking star. I'm calling it now, he has a belt within 12 months.

Summary
This one started exactly like you’d expect with Je’Von Evans and Dragon Lee trying to turn it into a sprint from the opening bell. Quick tags, fast angles, and constant motion kept Rusev and JD McDonagh from settling in early. McDonagh did his part to slow things down with smart positioning and taking advantage of brief openings, but the pace still leaned heavily toward Evans and Lee for most of the first stretch. The match really shifted when Rusev finally got extended time in the ring—he didn’t just clean house, he completely changed the tone, blasting through both opponents and cutting off any momentum they had built. But here’s where it flipped in a different direction than expected: despite Rusev’s dominance during that surge, his team didn’t actually close it out. Evans and Lee found their opening late, capitalizing on timing and movement to steal the win in a scramble finish that caught McDonagh out of position while Rusev was still clearing the ring. It was less about outpowering Rusev and more about surviving his run and slipping through the cracks he left behind. And even though Rusev came up on the losing end officially, he didn’t leave it there. After the bell, he snapped—flattening both Evans and Lee with a brutal post-match assault that erased any sense of celebration. The win went to the speed guys, but Rusev walked out looking like the most dangerous person in the match anyway.

Holy long-entrances, Batman! OTC saunters slowly to the ring (commercial break included) and asks Sacramento to ACKNOWLEDGE him. But before he can say a word, CULT OF PERSONALITY hits and we await the arrival of CM Punk. But he's not coming down the ramp. Nah. He makes his way through the crowd, slow and methodical, enjoying the love from the fans. Punk says he saw Roman's cold open (video vignette) calling him a liar. So he tells Roman to stop him when he hears a lie. He goes on a rant about the things he ENVIES and HATES about Roman. He envies that everything was handed to Roman. He hates that Roman was champion for 1316 days. He envies how hard Roman worked to be that damn good. He hates that Roman has main evented WrestleMania so many damn times. He says that he loves the old-timers, and loves and respects Sika and sincerely apologizes for what he said about Sika before. He hates that there is more than one royal family in profressional wrestling and envies the fact that he wasn't born into a legacy. He talks about his background and the path he took to finding his real family, working indies on his way to WWE. Then he affirms he will be walking out of Mania STILL the champion. Roman gets his chance to respond and says that these are the truest words he has heard CM Punk speak. Except the last part. Because on Sunday it's not going to be STILL it's going to be AND NEW, and everyone is going to have to ACKNOWLEDGE Roman as the OTC and NEW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION. Roll credits.
